Layla U15 Lionesses and Zanzibar children

Our U15 Lionesses Layla Shiner is currently in Zanzibar, Eastern Africa with her Deer Park school

Layla and some of the other pupils from Deer Park travelled to Zanzibar with African Adventures. African Adventures work with 29 schools in developing areas of Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar, and organise life-changing group volunteer trips for people of all ages.

When the children arrive their different skills are matched up, this could be building a new part of the school, helping teach in the classroom, Layla opted for football coaching, following her love of football, and wanted to teach football to the children whilst she is out there.

AFC Stoneham were delighted to be able to fill Laylas large suitcase with football kit, balls, water bottles, scarfs etc some of which can be seen in the photos below.

A huge well done to Layla for completing a wonderful experience and helping the children of Zanzibar.
