Callum Lee

Callum joined The Purps from Hamble during the summer of 2022 after inspired performances against us during the 21/22 last season. Spent time at both Brighton, Southampton and Bournemouth as a youth player.

Had a few injuries during his first season however was always top class when he played and has continued that great form at the start of this season producing an outstanding performance at Yeovil Town in the FA Cup recently.

Ryan Cluett

Ryan was at Southampton FC from aged 10-18 and captained their youth team.

He joined Sholing FC playing regularly in the Southern League before joining Shaftesbury for the 22/23 season.

Ryan joined us in the summer of 2023 and has been a great acquisition and fit for AFC Stoneham.

Yumo Wan

An old head on young shoulders who was at Eastleigh FC for three years whilst also being loaned out to both Sholing and ourselves during this period.

The central defender opted to join us permanently in the summer of 2023

Ben Clarke

Ben is a big central defender formerly of Colden Common and has been with the club 9 years apart from a brief spell at Alresford. Very quiet but a towering presence in the defence. He won Player of the season in both 2015/16 , 2017/18 and last season whilst having now made over 300 appearances for the club.

Mat Bainbridge

Mat is an Ex-Eastleigh player and joined the club from Totton and Eling at the end of 2017. At 26 years of age he has played nearly every game since joining and has always been outstanding.

A very important member of the team and instrumental during our Wessex One Championship season in 2019 whilst now being a senior member of the squad and vice-captain.

Josh Batt

Josh was at Hamble before joining Sholing where he played 15 Southern League games last season.

Josh joined us in the summer and has been excellent at the heart of our defence.

Alex Welch

Alex is our Club Captain and midfield maestro. He is now in his 7th season with the club and has made over 200 appearances captaining the team at St Marys and to our 2019/20 Wessex One championship winning season.

Alex had to have acl surgery in November 2021 therefore missing the season however made a full recovery to start playing again in December 2022 which was like having a great new signing .

He returned in time to captain the side to win last seasons Russell Cotes Cup. Alex will be instrumental to the team and club moving forward..

Jim Orvis

Jim joined the club in the summer of 2021 from Blackfield having previously played at Team Solent and Basingstoke Town.

Jim has proved to be an outstanding signing captaining the side in the absence of injured Alex Welch and becoming joint captain on Welchys return.

Ollie Jenkins

Ollie played for Romsey Town before going to Loughborough University.

On his return to the area this summer Ollie decided to join The Purps and has already put in many excellent midfield performances this season.

Ash Pope

Ash joined in December from Bashley having played for Shaftesbury for the two previous seasons having scored 20 goals in each season.

As a youth player he was at AFC Bournemouth for 10 years before being released after his scholarship.

Another excellent recent addition to our squad.

Tommy Barnes

Tommy joined us in the summer of 2021 after spending five years at Brockenhurst having previously been on AFC Bournemouths books as a youngster..

Although still only 24 Tommy has an old head on young shoulders and has played at both full back positions already this season. A very accomplished player.

Scott Hills

Scott has been with the club for 8 seasons having previously been at Alresford Town. In recent seasons Scott has been playing back in his favoured position in the front three which ended up with him being the Wessex Premier leagues top scorer and players player of the season in the 19/20 season.

A fantastically hardworking player and a huge asset to our club.

Owen Fee

Owen has good Southern League experience with both Blackfield and Lymington Town for the last couple of seasons.

Many clubs were keen to get his signature during the summer and we were delighted to do so. Owen is already proving to be a great asset to our forward line.

Lewis Nagle

Lewis joined us in the summer of 2022 from Hamble along with Callum Lee and Jamie Ovington.

A very exciting prospect at 19 who enjoyed an excellent first season improving and developing as the season progressed.

Quite a character and very popular with everyone at the club.

Duarte Martins

Signed from Alresford Town in 2020 where he netted 16 times in his last season. Portuguese born Duarte can play anywhere across the front line and is a very key member of our squad.

Duarte was our top goal scorer last season winning player of the season which has attracted a lot of interest from other clubs however he again stayed loyal to the Purps during the summer of 2023 showing further commitment to our own aspirations.

Liam Callaghan

Liam joined us from Winchester City in the summer of 2022 having previously been at US Portsmouth and AFC Totton.

Another young and exciting player who was one of our top goal scorers during 22/23 especially flourishing in the second half of his first season with the club.

A very popular member of the squad.

Adam Pattison

Adam was with the club until 2019 and then joined Andover Town.

Having rejoined in the summer of 2022 Adam can play in various positions and is a very important part of the squad this season.

Jake Thomson

Jake re-joined the club in a player coach role in November having only left very briefly last summer.

Jake played for Southampton, AFC Bournemouth, Forest Green, Torquay, Exeter and Newport County.

He played for England U17 and at Senior level for Trinidad and Tobago including in two world cup qualifiers.

Jake marked his return by scoring a hat trick in his first full appearance against Brockenhurst, the club he had just left.
